Catching up!

Hello all! I know I have been out of commision for awhile. No excuses just lazy! Meanwhile my kids have been growing especially cole you know how babies change so fast.

Cole is nine months old now. He is standing holding on to stuff, I have just about giving up on crawling, he hates everything about being on his stomach. I keep trying though! He has four teeth, loves to eat and eventhough he is still mostly eating baby food he loves steamed carrots, sweet peas, and green beans! He is still pretty layed back even though I think he gets frustrated sometimes because he can get moving!

Connor is loving school! We had some problems with him running his mouth to much at the beginning but he has been better lately. He is very curious about things right now, he asks tons of questions. He is old enough now that he is really a good helper. He is a really loving kid!

My one and only little girl will turn four years old on the 19th. She loves to dressup like a princess. She would love nothing more than to go crazy in my makeup, but I am holding her back. She will sit and watch me put every little thing on and wants to know what it is and where you put it. She is to sassy for her own good and I dread the teenage years!

A fun weekend with papaw and mamaw!

We went to my dads this weekend and we had a great time. The kids did lots of fun stuff with papaw and mamaw so I thought I would share some.

Papaw took Kahlan and connor for a ride on the 4 wheeler, which they loved.

Mamaw let them help her plant some flowers.

We had craft time, and they decorated these fun hats!

After all this you should not find it surprising that connor wanted to know why we were not staying another night. It was a good time for all, but I am sure mamaw and papaw were glad to get there quiet house back.

update!

I know I have been absent from the blogging world for awhile, but I am still alive! My children have all had accomplishment as of late so I thought I would update.

Connor has started school, and is loving it. He did get a note sent home in the first week saying he talked to much, but after we spoke with him the teacher says he has been doing better. The teacher is concerned that he is almost a full year younger than everyone in the class, and therefore his fine motor skills are not quite up to par. We are hoping if we work with him he will be able to catch up.

Kahlan has loved having me almost all to her self. Having connor at school has given us alot more one on one time. She has a pageant coming up at the end of Sep. I think I am going to have her do it. She loves wearing her princess dresses as she calls them. Her new thing lately has been, "I'm sorry momma" to everything. It doesn't matter if there is nothing to say your sorry for she is still sorry! I guess it could be worse right?

Cole has turned 7 months old, and is sitting well now, holding his own bottle and on Sep. 6th his first tooth came in. He still hates being on his belly, but I am trying to make him happier with belly time. His therapist and I are focusing on getting him up on his knees, but he is a lazy little thing. He still has a very layed back personality, and I love him for it!

We all went on our first camping trip of the year last weekend and we had a blast. We go to our time share outside of Tyler. The kids had a blast with swimming, movies, playgrounds, archery, fishing, games of all kinds, and the weather was great.
Well that's about it from the Johnson clan hope all is well with my blogger friends! Write soon!

My first born!

Well alot has happened with my first born this week. Monday he started Kindergarten and this past weekend he had his 5th birthday party (even though his b-day is not until this weekend). Its alot for a mom to watch you first child turn five and then get on the school bus and start school. He loves it though. He seems to really like his teacher and classmates. His favorite part though is the school bus! I thought it would be the playground, are the puzzle time they get to have, but NO it is all about the school bus! I guess that's better than him freaking out and not wanting to ride it. I did take him his first day and as I watched him take off his backpack and sit down in his desk I did think back to the day we had him. I was a scared first time mother and Dutch looked on with a since of awe at his first son. It was a different experience than having our other ones, and now he has left our nest and others will influence his thinking. Ok well I am reminiscing enough!

Attention everyone!

I thought I would share a little story with everyone involving my wonderful but mischievous son, Connor! Friday we went to see a friend of mine in the hospital that just had a baby. After the visit me and the kids were heading down the hall of the hospital on our way out, and I turned my head for a second to talk to kahlan and connor pulls the fire alarm. I tell you right now it was insane in like one second. All doors automatically shut, lights start blinking, sirens are going off, nurses and doctors are all meeting at the desk to prepare for whatever it is they are suppose to be doing, and Connor is looking at me with the most afraid look on his face. Of course I was completely mortified! So I called to the nurses to inform them that No the hospital is not burning down it was just my four year old. At the point that they realize that it is a false alarm they starting barking orders to call maintenance, call the fire dept. that is already on its way, and so on. So after I make connor apologize to the nurses and doctors we take our bow with a promise to not visit again anytime soon! So does anyone want to try and top that!

Country Living!!!

My husband was doing some yard work in our backyard and what was sitting there but this copperhead snake. Dutch grabbed a shovel and killed it, but it completely freaks me out. This is the second one we have found in our yard, and the other was bigger than this one. My kids play out here almost everyday so of course it worries me. Dutch brought the kids out and showed them the snake and explained how bad they were and to run if they see one. It's the price you pay for country living I guess, but all I have to say is GROSS!!! I thought I would share this for all of my wonderful friends that are coming to visit me at my home tonight. All I have to say is, Watch your step!!!

paint time!

We had paint time a couple of days ago and the kids are always happy when I let them paint. So we sat down and did a few pics together and we had a great time. After a while connor said he was done and I had saved bath time until after painting so I told him to come on and I will put him in the tub. I told kahlan to stay there and keep painting and when I came back the below pics are what I found. She was being so careful to get every part of her arm and after I had snuck a couple of pics I called her attention to me and she just looked up and smiled and said, "What??" She is such a funny girl I just let her go for it. We had a good time.

Getting better!

I have mentioned before that I feel like I need to put more effort into doing things active with my kids. Sure I bring them to the park, but do I get out there and slide with them. Those sort of things. I feel as though I am making progress and I am a happier mom for it. My kids tell me how much they like when I play with them and that ofcourse puts a smile on my face. I think I am finding my place as a mother of three. It just takes a little more loosening up (so kahlan just wiped her mashed potatoed hands on your dining room chair, just breathe), and a little more effort ( get off the computer and get on the floor and paint). I am getting it. If I can just keep my energy up I think I will be ok. I am sure by the end of today I will again feel overwhelmed but I think I am on the right track.

Cole 5 Months Old!

I have been meaning to write Cole's five month blog. Cole was five months old on July 6th, and he is really growing. He is awake about 10 hours a day, and almost every second of that he is smiley and content. I don't know how much he weighs since his next doctors appointment is not until the end of July, but he has defiantly put on the weight. He is eating four times a day. Formula and rice cereal for 7a.m. breakfast, 12p.m. lunch, & a 5p.m. dinner and just a bottle at eight before bed. We have started him on some first food and he seems really excited about getting some stuff with a taste. He has slept through the night for months now and he is so easy. He doesn't want anything to do with a pacifier. Instead he just wants to suck on the same two fingers (as you see in the pic above). Cole is very patient, he will always bring a smile to your face as his face always has a smile on it. He recently finally rolled over a few weeks ago. He seems to be a little slow getting going with that stuff, but he is seeing a physical therapist that is helping us get him going. He is a perfect third and final child.
