Lets mud wrestle!

We had our small group get together this Saturday, and we were suppose to have a slip and slide and other fun water stuff for the kids, but it rained and it was cold so we couldn't do the water stuff. The kids were really disappointed and when they located a decent size mud hole outside they decided to go for it. It was a little late by the time I saw them but oh well sometimes you just have to let them go. They had a blast!! They were shivering and disgusting but I think they thought it was worth it. Its great to be a kid, I have to admit it was tempting!

joining the world!

I am starting to really feel like cole is a part of the family now. At the beginning when all they do is sleep and eat its like they are just there, you love them to death, but there just there. Cole is finally awake enough during the day to play with and enjoy. He is growing fast and will be 3 months old on April 30th. Kahlan gets upset when her baby Cole (as she calls him) cries. The only problem is that her way of fixing that is to cover his mouth, which freaks me out so I have to keep a close eye on her.
On another note I am in a real decluttering process in my home right now. I am getting rid of stuff left and right, and I don't mean just clothes. I am getting rid of everything from furniture to houseware items to clothes ofcourse. I was starting to feel like my stuff was owning me instead of vice verse! It always feels good when you can sit in your home and breathe because everything has a space and your not afraid to open a closet from fear of everything pouring out.

Quotes to think on!

I was reading through some quotes on family's and I enjoyed so many of them that I thought I would share some of them with everyone. I found these all to be true. Let me know which one you like!

-What a child doesn't receive he can seldom later give.

-If nature had arranged that husbands and wives should have children alternatively, there would never be more than three in a family.

-Your children need your presence more than your presents.

-The quickest way for a parent to get a child's attention is to sit down and look comfortable.

-Children aren't happy with nothing to ignore,And that's what parents were created for.

-When my kids become wild and unruly, I use a nice, safe playpen. When they're finished, I
climb out.

-If I had my child to raise all over again,I'd build self-esteem first, and the house later.I'd finger-paint more, and point the finger less.I would do less correcting and more connecting.I'd take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.I'd take more hikes and fly more kites.I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play.I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars.I'd do more hugging and less tugging.

-A child, like your stomach, doesn't need all you can afford to give it.

-"I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once."

-If evolution really works, how come mothers only have two hands?

- I'm not going to vacuum 'til Sears makes one you can ride on

-The trouble with being a parent is that by the time you are experienced, you are unemployed.

-Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.

-My mom used to say it doesn't matter how many kids you have... because one kid'll take up 100% of your time so more kids can't possibly take up more than 100% of your time.

-There are two lasting bequests we can give our children. One is roots. The other is wings.

Give me strength!!

This is one of those times I had to take some serious deep breaths. I was in the back on my house putting up laundry, and my daughter ran into the room and her head was covered in white stuff. When I went to the living room they had both gotten baby powder and decorated the entire living room. There was no area unaffected. I have to admit I totally lost it. I mean what were they thinking they had to of known I was going to notice. Talking about asking the lord for strength.

Cole Update!

Cole went to the doctor yesterday. He is putting on weight pretty good. His weight puts him in the 10th percentile which is better than last time, and his head circumference and height put him in the 3 percentile (well what can I say he is a shorty). The doctor didn't seem concerned, she said he was catching up. We are going to discontinue his meds next week and as long as he doesn't start having spells again we will be able to get rid of the heart monitor in a couple more weeks. I am so ready to not have to carry equipment around with my baby.
